Feud Fighter Feature: An Interview with Dori Duncan

At Feud Fight Gear, we’re all about celebrating the athletes who bring passion, purpose, and power to the sport of Muay Thai—and Dori Duncan does exactly that. A globally ranked featherweight and rising force on the international stage, Dori is proudly part of the Feud Fight Gear family. She’s half Thai, born in Bangkok, and represents everything we admire in a fighter: technical brilliance, a deep love for the art, and a heart for growing the sport, especially for women.

In this exclusive interview, Dori shares her journey from childhood curiosity to RWS debut, her vision for Muay Thai in Australia, and what keeps her grounded both inside and outside the ring.

1. How did you first get into Muay Thai, and what drew you to the sport?

Being half Thai, I grew up being exposed to Muay Thai through my relatives watching it on TV regularly. I always thought the violence of it was beautiful, and I loved how deeply it’s embedded in Thai culture.

2. For those who might not know you, what would you say are your standout achievements in the sport?

  • Competing in the 4 Woman Infliction Tournament
  • Member of the NSW Women of Muay Thai Committee, which hosts ongoing events to encourage female participation
  • Globally ranked featherweight
  • RWS debut win
  • Full Thai Rules Australian #2 Ranked

3. How would you describe your fighting style, and who are your biggest influences?

I love Muay Femur—technical, creative, strategic fighting. People seem to know me for my kicks and elbows, but I love doing everything. I believe a fighter should be as well-rounded as possible so they can adapt to whatever a fight throws at them.

4. What has been your most memorable fight so far, and why?

My RWS debut. It was my first fight after a year off, my first international fight, and it was in the birthplace of Muay Thai—the oldest stadium in Thailand—where women weren’t even allowed near the ring once upon a time. I was born in that city, so to fight there, win there, and do what I love meant a lot. My opponent made me really earn it, and I had to overcome so many internal battles for that win.

5. Do you have any pre-fight rituals or lucky gear you always wear into the ring?

My mum’s scarf—we call it Pa Kao Ma. I wear it around my waist. Other than that, I just try to remind myself: make everything okay. Things never go to plan, and you can’t let that derail the amazing process that is fight day.

6. What advice would you give to young fighters, especially those looking to break into the sport?

Be coachable. Be humble. Be prepared to put yourself through possibly the hardest thing you’ve ever done—and do it with love.

7. How do you see the future of Muay Thai in Australia, and what role do you want to play in it?

Australia has made its mark as a Muay Thai powerhouse, and we’re still growing. It’s amazing to see. Honestly, I just want to finish my career by making the environment better for the next generation—create more exposure, more opportunities.

8. Are there any fights, opponents, or goals you’re aiming for next?

After fighting on RWS, I’d love to fight regularly on that promotion and test myself against their stacked international roster. To make that happen, I see myself living in Thailand for a decent amount of time.

9. Outside of fighting, do you have any goals or passions you’re working on?

I love training others and sharing what I know and love about Muay Thai. It gives me the same fuel that fighting does—I find it super rewarding.

10. Feud Fight Gear is proud to have you as a sponsee—what drew you to working with us?

Your strong meme game! 😉

But seriously, I liked the vibe of the brand, the way you operate, and I loved the designs. After chatting with Frankie and learning more about Feud, I knew I wanted to be on board. It’s locally owned, small, and female-led. We’re working together to grow the sport at all levels, and that aligns with my values. Thank you so much, Feud, for supporting me.

At Feud Fight Gear, we’re proud to support fighters like Dori—athletes who embody skill, resilience, and heart, both in and out of the ring. Her journey is a powerful reminder of why we do what we do: to back the fighters shaping the future of Muay Thai, one round at a time.
