Feud's Five For Fighters: Erin Carter

Erin Carter is Muay Thai fighter and Coach at WFC in Chirnside, Victoria. She won Gold at the ISKA World Championships in Turkey last year and also is the current VAMAA Featherweight Champion.

Can you tell us about your background and how you got started in Muay Thai?

I did dancing as a kid (very un-Muay Thai 😝), but after I stopped in my late teens, I didn't consistently exercise for years. I knew I needed to find a new sport to keep fit and maintain my high-snack diet. When I saw an ad for WFC pop-up on my Facebook one day, although I had no idea what the hell Muay Thai was, I decided to give it a go. I had always loved punching on with my guy friends and getting into "play" fights so it seemed up my alley. I did a 4 week Muay Thai intro program through WFC where you learn the basics, and was hooked immediately! From then on I probably went to every class they ran, and haven't looked back since!

How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

Hungry, logical, stressed!! 😂

Who would you think would be a great opponent for you in the near future? Who’s on your radar?

I think a fight between Rosie Felberg and myself would be a ripper display of Muay Thai. 2 Melbourne girls going to war in the ring! She's got great technique and that clean Thai style 😚🤌🏼

If you weren’t training or coaching Muay Thai, what do you think you’d be doing?

Last year I completed my Bachelor of Economics degree... So I'd probably be a data analyst or something 🤣🤮 (no offence data analysts! 😂)

If you could only use one strike/technique for the rest of your fighting career, what would it be?

Lead teep >>>>> any other strike! I said what I said!
